We’re excited to announce the latest feature that will take the gaming experience to a whole new level: Custom Tournaments.
This game modality will allow anyone to organize their own tournaments!
Let’s get into it in more detail.
Custom Tournaments can be organized and managed by anyone — it’s not necessary to have a team participating in the competition.
The creator of the tournament will choose the duration and dates, the number of competitors, the team level range (min & max), the entry fee and the prize pool model.
There won’t be divisions anymore (Amateur, Beginner, Semi-Pro, Pro and Legend) — from now on teams will be categorized by their overall level from 10 to 100.
Tournaments are open to all and it's the responsibility of the creator to share the access link. There is no limit to the number of parallel tournaments that can take place, which means anyone can participate in multiple tournaments simultaneously.
Be mindful when signing up for multiple tournaments — the number of matches per day is different in each competition, so the condition of your players could be too low, or schedules could even clash!
After the tournament ends, it's a simple click of a button to distribute rewards, and anyone can do it.
Prizes will be in $MSU and the prize pool model will be chosen by the creator. Currently, the prize pool options available are the following (note that new options will be added in the following releases):

Will the MetaSoccer League still be organized?
No, it will not. Custom Tournaments are the new PvP tournaments and will replace the MetaSoccer League.
How can I learn about upcoming tournaments?
We will create Discord and TG channels to give visibility to the new tournaments created. There, creators will be able to share the access link to each tournament.
How can I participate in a particular tournament?
To enroll in a particular tournament, you will need to have a team that matches the specified level range of the tournament, then click the access link and pay the entry fee of the tournament.
How much do I have to pay to participate in a particular tournament?
The entry fee will be defined in advance by the creator of a particular tournament.
BETA VERSION: There will be a cap of 100 $MSU only during the release of the first version of the Custom Tournaments. Once this new competition mode has been thoroughly tested and validated, the cap will be removed.
What happens if I pay the entry fee to join a tournament but in the end the tournament doesn’t take place due to not reaching the minimum participation?
In this case, you will be refunded.
In how many tournaments can I participate?
There is no limitation in the number of tournaments you can participate in. In case of parallel tournaments, be aware that match schedules are random, so you may have matches too close blocking your team condition recovery, or you may have matches at the same time not being able to play them all.
How will teams be divided in a particular tournament?
There won’t be divisions anymore (Amateur, Beginner, Semi-Pro, Pro and Legend). The creator will decide the team level range (min & max) needed to enroll in the tournament. Then, all teams that have signed up will compete against each other.
What are the rewards?
Rewards will be defined in advance by the creator of a particular tournament. They correspond to 90% of the total prize pool and will be distributed according to one of the following options as chosen by the creator:
The other 10% of the total prize pool will be distributed between the creator of the tournament (5%) and MetaSoccer (5%).
When will I receive the reward if I become one of the prize winners of a particular tournament?
There will be a public reward distribution button. After the tournament ends, anyone will be able to click on it and launch the reward distribution.
When will Custom Tournaments start?
Custom Tournaments will be available from Friday, 17 March. From this date, anyone will be able to create a tournament.
Who can create a tournament?
Anyone with a valid wallet can create a tournament.
To create a tournament, do I have to own a team and participate in it?
No, you will not. The creator is only an organizer, you don’t need to have any team or participate in your own tournament. However, you can participate in it if you want to and if you have a team that matches the specified level range of the tournament.
How can I create a tournament?
To create a tournament, click on the “Create tournament” button on the home page and complete the form:

How many tournaments can I create?
There is no limitation in the number of tournaments you can create, even if they are parallel.
Can I replicate a tournament already created?
No, you will not. You will need to create a new tournament and complete the form again.
What prize will I win if I organize a tournament?
If you create a tournament, you will receive 5% of the total prize pool after the tournament ends.
Can I sponsor a tournament?
BETA VERSION: During the beta version, it is not possible to sponsor tournaments.
