Since its launch, Custom Tournaments have been met with resounding enthusiasm. The popular "League" format offers intense competition and strategic gameplay that elevate the thrill factor.
Building upon this success, we are thrilled to introduce an additional option that will amplify the excitement even further. Get ready to experience a heightened level of thrill and intensity with our newest addition, the "KO" mode.
In KO Tournaments, teams will face off in a knockout-style format where the stakes are high. The rules are simple: the winner of each match progresses to the next round, while the loser gets eliminated from the tournament.
In the event of a tie, penalties will determine the victor, adding an extra layer of suspense to the gameplay.
We understand that variety is key to a dynamic gaming experience, so we've included multiple competition size options. Whether you prefer a one-on-one showdown or a large-scale tournament, we've got you covered!
To make the competition even more enticing, we have carefully crafted a range of rewarding options:
We believe that the KO format will bring a new level of excitement and competitiveness to MetaSoccer. Try the beta version from Wednesday, 24 May at https://app.metasoccer.com/home/pvp/tournaments

Will the “League” mode still be available?
Yes, it will. From now on, when creating a tournament you will be able to choose between the “League” mode and the “KO” mode.
Note that for some features, the available options in the toggle list will depend on the game mode previously selected:
What are the rewards in the “KO” mode?
Rewards will be defined in advance by the creator of a particular tournament and they correspond to 90% of the total prize pool. In the “KO” mode, the prize pool options available are the following:
The other 10% of the total prize pool will be distributed between the creator of the tournament (5%) and MetaSoccer (5%).
How many teams can participate in a KO tournament?
The number of teams participating in a KO tournament will be defined in advance by the creator of a particular tournament. The available options are the following:
What happens if both teams are unable to play a match?
In case both teams are unable to play a match, the match will be "suspended" and an "empty team" will move forward in the KO. If an "empty team" ends up in a rewarded position, those rewards will be sent to the winner of the competition instead.
For example: in the following test KO, one of the semifinal was suspended and an empty team moved to the final, thus the winner got the 1st and 2nd position rewards.
BETA VERSION:
There will be a cap of 100 $MSU and no sponsorship only during the release of the first version of the KO mode. Once this new game mode has been thoroughly tested and validated, the cap will be removed and sponsorship will be activated.
