In the world of soccer, enhancing players' skills is an indispensable cornerstone of their overall progress and performance on the pitch, and the key to nurturing and refining these essential skills is training.

Training results depend on the age of the player, so the older a player is, the slower their skills tend to  improve. We have reviewed the development curve, so let’s delve together into the intricate relationship between age and skill development during training!

Age-Dependent Skill Improvement

At MetaSoccer, skill improvement is most pronounced at the age of 14. This early peak in improvement is attributed to the combination of youth, high condition, and a greater capacity for skill development. However, as players grow older, this rapid improvement gradually wanes.

Between the ages of 21 and 25, skill improvement reaches a plateau, with players maintaining a relatively stable rate of development. Beyond this stage, a gentle decline sets in, marking a gradual decrease in skill progression.

However, there is a turning point at the age of 30. Previously, players experienced a sharp drop in their training results at this age, leading to concerns about the viability of older players — but we have reviewed it!

Adjustments for a More Realistic Development Curve

To address this concern and ensure a more realistic player development curve, MetaSoccer has implemented adjustments in the training program.

As of now, the decrease in training results is not as significant at 31 years old. However, players should still expect a year-by-year reduction in their skill improvement potential from this point onward, until they almost cease to improve while getting closer to retirement age.

By making these changes, MetaSoccer aims to provide a more accurate reflection of the aging process in the world of soccer and enable clubs to better plan their players' careers.

With these adjustments, the soccer metaverse can better prepare for the future, ensuring that players can continue to thrive well into their thirties.

Plan your training strategies and career trajectories, and take your players to the top!
